(An-Nahl) 16 : 14
وَهُوَ الَّذِي سَخَّرَ الْبَحْرَ لِتَأْكُلُوا مِنْهُ لَحْمًا طَرِيًّا وَتَسْتَخْرِجُوا مِنْهُ حِلْيَةً تَلْبَسُونَهَا وَتَرَى الْفُلْكَ مَوَاخِرَ فِيهِ وَلِتَبْتَغُوا مِنْ فَضْلِهِ وَلَعَلَّكُمْ تَشْكُرُونَ
And He is the one Who subjected the sea for you to eat from it tender meat and to extract from it ornaments that you wear; and you see the ships sailing through it so that you may seek His Bounty, and that you may become grateful.
Mankind depends on the sea for fishing and extracting gemstones like Diamonds, Ruby, Emerald, Yellow Sapphires, Garnet, Blue Sapphires, Pearls, Cat’s eye, and Coral. For transporting heavy loads ships are used. All these favors and bounties are bestowed upon to accept Allah as the Only Lord of the universe as explained in 14: 34. Adhikr is the Mercy and Bounty bestowed to the whole of mankind from the first man Adam to the Last Day as explained in verses 10: 57-58. See explanation 2: 152; 13: 22 and 16: 8.
